| Hi i'm a new member Mark Shears, I've got a early 71 bay that came with a spare engine. But its a type 3 1600 engine. Is this any good for a camper. i know it needs the dip stick & oil sender taped out, also it must have the camper tin ware put on. can any one help. thanks |

I am not a mechanic but have asked around and told alsorts of things from no support beam under the engine and oil cooler ?

| I have found out that the oil cooler studs are 6mm & not 8mm. just need to tap it out to take the 8mm studs. Apart from that & the other bits that i know needs to be done thats it. I will try to sort out my oil leak first as it my be easier. And thanks Brian |

I've now got the engine in the van, still got to put carb and exhaust on it yet. "The rain stopped play" But all seems well.
The type 3 engine does have the bolts for the support beam so no problems there. Should be up and running soon.

yes mate i have had a look on there before.
I have the engine running now. The only thing that took some time was the firing orders different. i think at TDC the first spark is on no.3 & not no. 1.
